Ferentillo
and the Museum of the Mummies!
For a long time, the history of Ferentillo is interwined with the abbey of San Pietro in Valle, founded in the 8th century. Shortly after the founding, to oversee this important Benedectine monastery, a lot of sentinels to ensure the defence were placed on the slopes of the surroundings heights, fortresses and castles. The fortresses of MATTERELLA and PRECETTO were part of this bulwarks. These two places, divided by the Nera river, create the village of Ferentillo.

Carsulae
Archaeological area
Carsulae is an ancient Roman city (although the first settlements were placed during the pre-Roman era) situated along the future Via Flaminia, in Umbria, on the border between the municipal terrirories of Interamna Nahars (Terni) and Casventum (San Gemini).
It is partly located below a few meters of land because of the abandonment after some serious landslides.
